It's not a matter of paying for what you get, it's a matter of covering your ass in case something really bad happens. Just like any insurance.
I know it's not free. Nobody claims that it is, even when they call it 'free health care'.

Ok, we have a bunch of "stupid" americans on this board!...I will give you the answer to the easy one:
there are 27 ammendments to the constitution..now would someone please tell me which ones relate to the right to vote
My issue is that here, I have to pay a bunch of taxes on almost everything, and what I get from the goverment is nothing. My health care is deducted from my company check, but services here are not that good. They are good if you are prepared to pay more. I also have to pay for private education, as public school is not what I want for my kids. At the end afer I pay all bills, I am left with lmost nothing.
Sure, we have beautifull beaches, cheap beer, and stuff.....but I know I need to evolve if I want to survive and leave something to my family.
